Perth Summer Days: A Three-Day Burswood Plan

Staying at Burswood places you on the banks of the Swan River, just three kilometres from the Perth CBD by secondary road estimates. A hot-weather trip requires a practical rhythm: morning strolls along the water, shaded indoor afternoons, and late dinners by the foreshore.

Structuring a Hot Summer Stay

Perth experiences hot, dry summers where outdoor activities are best scheduled for the early morning or late afternoon. Choosing a central base at Crown Perth allows you to manage your days effectively without long travel times. The resort sits within Burswood Park, offering direct pedestrian access to riverside paths and views across to the city skyline.

By pacing your outings around the heat, you can explore the surrounding parks, cross the river via nearby bridges, and return to the resort during peak temperature hours. The key to a smooth itinerary is using the resort's indoor amenities, dining venues, and transport links to break up outdoor movement.

Day 1: Arrival, the Foreshore and Late Dining

After checking in at 3:00pm to your room at Crown Towers, Metropol or Promenade, settle into your accommodation before heading outside as the sun begins to lower. Take an early evening walk along the Burswood Park foreshore, following the paths beside the Swan River towards the Causeway or Matagarup Bridge.

Return to the complex for dinner. With 17 dining concepts across the site, you can choose between casual options in the Urban Food District or a seated meal at venues like Silks, Nobu, or Rockpool Bar & Grill. Cap off the evening with a drink at TWR or inside 42 by Don Julio before heading back to your room.

Day 2: Morning Walks and Evening Entertainment

Start early with a walk across Matagarup Bridge or through Burswood Park while the air remains fresh. If you plan to head into the city, walk to Burswood train station or take the complimentary Crown shuttle service, which operates drop-offs to the station between 9:00am and 7:55pm from Sunday to Thursday, extending to 8:55pm on Friday and Saturday.

Spend the hot midday hours indoors. You might book a treatment at Crown Spa Perth, located within Crown Towers, or browse the resort lounge areas. In the evening, check the performance schedule at Crown Theatre Perth, a two-tiered venue with seating for up to 2,260 people. Alternatively, gather for a relaxed dinner at The Merrywell pub or Atrium Buffet inside the Crown Metropol lobby.

Day 3: River Exploration and Departure Prep

On your final day, take advantage of the morning hours to explore the footpaths extending north towards Optus Stadium and Burswood Park. The riverside environment provides flat walking routes with expansive views of the river and city skyline across the water.

Return in time for the standard 11:00am check-out. If you are staying on site for lunch, paid and free parking options across 4,000 car park bays allow you to leave your vehicle secured while dining at participating restaurants like Epicurean, Modo Mio, or Junction Grill.

Practical Travel and Access Details

Getting around Burswood is straightforward whether using public transport or driving. Driving access is via Bolton Avenue off Great Eastern Highway. For those parking on site, free parking is available in car parks P3, P6, and P8, while paid undercover parking is offered in P2 Multi-Level and P4 Riverside. Electric vehicle charging stations are located in P1 and P2.

If attending an event or continuing your evening indoors, note that the physical casino operates 24 hours daily for guests aged 18 and over with valid identification. Neat casual dress and footwear are required across all public areas of the resort.
